November 9: Happy Birthday Pa Pa!

Day 183

Today is an important day for two reasons: 1) It is the feast of the dedication of the Basilica of St. John Lateran and 2) It's my dad's birthday!

We went to church this morning and as soon as I heard the first reading, from the Book of Ezekiel, it took me right back to Rome. I was in Rome three years ago on Nov. 9. Instead of going to the Basilica of St. John Lateran, we went to the Basilica of St. Mary Major, where we had Mass. A girl named Eilish from Ireland, read the first reading and I'll never forget her voice as she read about Ezekiel's prophecy of the life-giving stream. It's such a good memory.

Happy birthday Dadio! We love you!!

Grandma bought me this hat and mommy makes me wear it A LOT!
Happy Birthday Pa Pa!
Today I'm purging a book on birds. I brought this home for Clint once, but quickly regretted it. I thought I'd get rid of it before he spirits it away to the basement. Besides we already have birds in our backyard...vultures and turkeys. What more could we want?
