Anita Shreve is one of my favorite authors. Her prose is beautiful, but what I really like is that in several of her novels, she uses the same house but different time periods for the setting. I think it's so cool when authors create subtle universes this way and weave stories together without a "series." The Last Time They Met is my favorite Shreve book. The ending is one of the best I've ever read in any book. I'm purging several Shreve books this week because even though I love them, I don't usually reread books. There's too many books in the world to reread the same ones over and over again!
