July 6: Hetty's Hundred Hats

Day 57

I'm sitting here watching the Fun Girls episode of the Andy Griffith Show and drinking coffee my dad poured for me. Sometimes when I come home to visit, it's like I never left. Missouri has a smell in the early mornings that is so unlike Kansas. It's sweet and green and foggy. I love that smell.

Last night Clint and I swam in the pool as the sun was going down and we had a ball. We splashed and dunked and laughed. It was so carefree. I can't remember the last time we played together like that. Maybe never.

The babies are being eternally passed around. Petie is exhausted just from being held by so many different people.

Today I'm purging a hardcover children's book called Hetty's Hundred Hats. It's a really cute book and there's even instructions for making your own hats in the back. I think it will make some little girl very happy.
