June 1: It's the Great Potato, Charlie Brown!

Day 22

Huzzah! When I returned home from work on Saturday, I asked my husband if he was going to cook for me that night, as it was our anniversary. (Before work he had informed me that his plan was to look through The Great Potato Cookbook to find recipes to make for our anniversary.) When I arrived home on Saturday evening he said "That cookbook is so stupid. What's minced meat? What are currants?" Mmmmm. I can imagine it now, a minced meat potato hash with currant reduction - sounds like a stellar recipe. Since he was frustrated with the cookbook, I saw an opportunity to free it from our lives. Fed up with weird ingredients and complicated recipes, Clint readily agreed to let me include the book in my purge.

Clint ended up grilling steaks and we had baked beans and baked potatoes (great enough for me) on the side for our anniversary. However, I can't help but feel my real gift was being able to put the Great Potato Cookbook on the free cart at the library this morning!
