My best friend visited me earlier in May and we hit the thrift store together. While pouring through the children's books, I stumbled on a blank Letter Book. I have fond memories of letter books. During the course of my Kindergarten career, I worked my way through all 26 letters of the alphabet using these books. Maybe it's because my best friend and I were in the same kindergarten class or because there are two "e"s in Peter, but I purchased the book. Bad decision. The book is floppy, doesn't fit on any bookshelf and is really out of context without the other 25 books in the series. Do I really expect Peter to complete this letter book in his free time at home when he's in Kindergarten? A better question: Do I really see myself holding on to this book for five more years? No way.
This elephant is on his way back to the thrift store! |
If this had been Letter Book "S" I definitely would have kept it for the awesome "Scratch n Sniff" portion of that book, which was legendary. I can smell that pickle and that rose still!
