Day 153
Today is Oktoberfest in our fair city. Unfortunately the weather is not very fair at all. It's 45 degrees and raining. Filipe (Clint's coworker) had never experienced weather below 60 degrees before he moved to the United States. He's never seen snow. I hope he survives the winter :)
I've been to Oktoberfest the last couple of years. Last year, my sister's family was here and we attended the festival eating all sorts of yummy food. We went on a wagon ride, played at the playground and listened to some festive polka. The weather could not have been more beautiful last year, so I'm glad they didn't choose to visit this year instead!
Last night I hosted another German cooking class where we made green bean and dumpling soup. This is another popular recipe in this area. The soup would have been better if I had used cream instead of milk, but it was fun to make dumplings. It's perfect "soup weather" and everyone enjoyed the class.
My purge today is a plain, green v-neck tee shirt. I did not take this photo today which explains the a) sunshine and b) clean appearance of my living room. Currently, my living room is a disaster.
