Today is Halloween, probably my least favorite holiday of the year. I just can't get too excited about Halloween since it was such an understated holiday when I was little. We didn't decorate, we didn't trick or treat until we were teenagers, we didn't have wild parties. The only things I really feel nostalgic about are Simpsons: Treehouse of Horror specials and carving pumpkins. I hope as Peter gets older we can put more emphasis on Halloween being the eve of All Saints Day. I don't think I ever connected Halloween to a Holy Day when I was little, especially as we live in such a secularized society.
