Day 144
I've been doing weekly meal-plans for dinner the last few weeks and they've worked out pretty well. Since I teach CCD on Wednesday's, I like to makes something on Tuesdays that will last for two nights. So last night I made a big pot of broccoli noodle soup, which is a recipe Clint's mom gave me. It's fairly foolproof, but this time I decided to use cheddar cheese instead of Velveeta. Even though cheese is cheese, I figured cheddar would be slightly more wholesome than the "dairy product" Velveeta. The only problem with my theory is that cheddar, unlike Velveeta, is not made to melt into oblivion. I ended up with a soup that basically tasted the same as the original, but that had cheese curds in it. Fortunately I like cheese curds. Clint was starting on his second bowl of soup when he said "You know why I'm glad I married you? Because you made a huge pot of this soup." Ahhh... the secret of wedded bliss.
Today I'm purging The Blue Book of Fairy Tales.
Today is the feast day of my confirmation patron, St. Therese of Liseux. Also known as the Little Flower. She's a powerful intercessor. St. Therese, pray for us!
